The clients felt the need for a contemporary home that not only broke the stereotypes of conventional approach to design but also had a serious influence of traditional Chettinad architecture. The new residence was to provide 4 bedrooms and a luxurious green space that could cater to the entertaining needs of the family. The biggest challenge while designing the house was to arrive at a visually appealing piece of architecture from a rigid program as set by vaastu principles that dictated the specific locations of various spaces. The project was an platform to experiment a varied combination of construction technology that included GFRG , stone, brick, fibre cement and steel.
